Trainer Time
So with my gym membership came a free consultation with a personal trainer. This means one meeting to just talk about fitness, goals and whatnot and at least one more time with me doing whatever workout she feels fit for me. Our first meeting happened on Monday afternoon. It was pretty mundane, she mostly just asked me about my health history, but then she got into the fun questions like 'why did you decide to join the gym?' and 'how long has it been since you've really worked out?' My immediate thought was is this like a why did I join this specific gym question or a why did you decide to start coming to the gym question. Immediately in my smart-aleck ways I'm like well, can we just say it's been a really long time and just get to it?, but eventually I admitted it's been almost a year since I've been running and that I want to get back into running shape. Her last question for me was 'what do you want to work on?' I honestly dead-pan stared her and wanted to ask her if she hadn't heard the part where I hadn't worked out seriously in a year but I contained it and told her that I really wanted to work on everything in the most serious voice I could muster. We made our next appointment for Thursday at 2pm where we have a half hour for her to just kick my ass. Hopefully there will be a part of me left to report how it goes....
